Bill Winemiller and his wife, Jane Winemiller, were heading east on Route 7 on a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it rear-ended a 2018 Honda Civic stopped for a red light at the intersection of Harry Byrd Highway and Main Street in Clarke County around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, according to Virginia State Police.

Bill, 69, was taken to Winchester Medical Center, where he died on Saturday, May 11, his obituary on York Dispatch says. Jane died at the same hospital on Friday, May 17. Both were wearing helmets.

The driver of the Honda, a 45-year-old male from Berryville, Va., was not injured in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The couple's obituary says Bill was an HVAC tech who retired from Shipley Energy, while Jane had retired as a school counseling office secretary from Dallastown Area School District.
